DJ Chunsa's K-POP Session Playlist- August 22, 2012

Hello everyone!!! It's been a rather hectic week for me and I apologize for posting the session replays very late. I hope you understand that I do have a life outside BBR - working full-time and part-time to keep a living.

Anyway, my Wednesday session went quite well. I didn't have a Skype Call-In guest (which actually takes off the pressure, haha) and my K-POP Memory Lane segment features a very popular boy group - they also have a "legendary" status too! Not going to reveal much so tune in to the replay to know who it was.

Also, I finally retrieved some old BBR commercial/station ID clips from DJ Rip and oh boy... I was pleasantly surprised to see my K-Pop Beats commercials! It gave me an idea to re-edit the commercial that is suitable for my session and use 'K-Pop Beats' as my session name! What do you think? Is it a good idea to rename my session?

DJ Chunsa's K-POP Session Playlist- August 17, 2012

What's up everybody!

All I can say is that my Friday session was amazing. My request slot was full by the 2nd hour and as always, I appreciate everyone for taking the time to send in their song requests. I still feel that I'm bad when I talk on air and sometimes it bugs the heck out of me (because English is not my first language), however, I'm still thankful that there are a few BBR listeners who sent in their "thank you's" and telling me I did a great job (ego boost? haha!).

I finally have a new name for my segment and its called "K-Pop Memory Lane." As the segment name suggests, I'll take you through the time of a specific old-school artist and get you in the loop about their rising popularity (or not) and play a hit song from the artist. I finally realized though that this segment takes me awhile to prepare because I have to dig through some old songs, lots of information, controversies and whatnot. Still, it's fun reading and learning more about these Korean musicians who helped shape K-pop back then. For my Friday's segment, I featured Seo Tai Ji and Boys (wooot) but I won't give away much info. It's better you listen to my whole session and why they're called the "legends" of K-pop.

I'm so glad that I hooked up with my friend Noue, who is an old BBR listener. She and I go way back and she was an avid listener who's into TVXQ and Big Bang. I can't believe how time went by and I'm so glad that the Skype Call-In-Segment was a way for us to catch up on a lot of things, including K-Pop. I didn't expect for our conversation to be that long but it's still OK. So to Noue, thank you!!!

DJ Chunsa's K-POP Session Playlist- August 15, 2012

What's up everybody!!!

I am quite late with posting my session replay + playlist for Wednesday but I got a valid excuse xD I was cooped up with work, very busy since I was away from two days straight. For those who have no idea where I have been and why I'm 2 sessions absent, I made a trip to my Dad's hometown for a family grand reunion.

Now, most people say they hate family reunions, but in my case, I loved it! Why? Because it became an opportunity for me to meet and know more about the history of my family lineage. As it turned out, I have a big extended family. It was so awesome meeting my 2nd cousins for the first time, including my distant relatives. The tip of the iceberg of my trip? Seeing my 82-year old grandfather once again. He's one of the few people who made an impact in my life and I'm so glad that I finally got to see him.

So where was I? Oh yes, my session replay! DJ Chunsa's K-POP Session Playlist- August 6, 2012

Hello everyone!!!

My apologies for posting the playlist and the replay last night. After my session, I was so tired and sleepy, so I decided to do it today. I am kinda late though since I still have to work and all.... but I think I don't have to rush this one.

Anyway, my Monday session was good. I added a new segment, which I didn't even bother to name it, where I introduce an old K-Pop artist that were once popular or unpopular during back in the day. I am proud to say that I've been an avid K-Pop listener since late 2000 and it was during those days where I stumbled upon Click-B, Chakra, Papaya, D-Bace, Sung Si Kyung, and a few others. I am planning to have a separate post soon on the groups and solo singers that I used too listen to way back... just so you can get the glimpse of who they were and how K-pop has evolved over the years. If you have a segment name that you can suggest, please let me know.

Also, my Skype Call-In Segment went really well. Jingwen was my caller and we talked about her love for 2NE1 and BAP and how she was bummed that she couldn't go to Big Bang's concert in Malaysia. DJ Chunsa's K-POP Session Playlist- August 3, 2012

Hello everyone!!

Friday's session was so great. I had tons of requests pouring in and I apologize for those who sent in their song requests but wasn't played. Really... it was one of those days where I was swamped with all of these requests and I was queuing them like crazy until I realized and thought to myself, "Woah.... I can't squeeze them all!"
